the kitty on my t-shirt? meet henri, le chat noir,

an adorable (and famous) local cat;

he is "the world's first and foremost feline philosopher."

in fact, there is an entire book, website, and numerous cat videos

and paraphernalia featuring him. 

i feel fortunate to know one of henri's caretakers - 

will braden, thriving filmmaker, compiles and edits henri's videos. 

in addition, a percentage of the proceeds from

henri's books and other items are donated to various 

local cat charities.

while in portland a few months back,

patrick and i visited powell's books and found henri, le chat noir

amongst "our current favorite reads."

he truly is famous!
