july is national ice cream month,
and you can bet this girl is going to celebrate
all month long. my sweet tooth is seemingly out
of control, and ice cream is my treat of choice.
i grew up enjoying coffee ice cream with my dad, and it
continues to be a favorite flavor!
when my adorable friend, jenn, suggested
a post-work ice cream date at shug's soda fountain,
located outside pike place market, i
knew i had to join. there is something about
eating ice cream in the summertime that
never fails to put a smile on my face!
i opted for the coffee ice cream
cookie sandwich, and jenn chose a tasty
frozen hot chocolate. when the waitress asked if
we would like to add sprinkles, we had to say,
'yes, please!' this snack was the perfect afternoon
pick-me-up; i look forward to visiting
shug's soda fountain again soon. their brown
derby sundae (topped with hot fudge and a donut)
is on my list of items to try!
after finishing our treats, we set out
to find a nearby storefront or alley to use as a backdrop
for outfit photos. an ice cream date requires
a cute, festive summer dress, of course!
i picked up this dress (on major sale!)
at my local nordstrom rack a few weeks ago.
the floral print, bell sleeves, and shift style
are perfect for summer. i am eager to pair this
dress with my ballet flats or metallic sandals
to give it a more casual vibe.

have you celebrated (or begun to celebrate)
national ice cream month? there are a few local
ice cream shops i hope to visit (and shug's soda fountain,
i will be back soon!). molly moon's ice cream,
frankie & jo's, and hello robin are also
on my bucket; have you been?
what's your favorite flavor of
ice cream? and if you're from the greater
seattle area, what ice cream shops
do you recommend? cheers!
xoxo.
