the name of the game is PLAID!
plaid is a seattle wardrobe staple. from jackets to oversized scarves,
or flannel shirts to miniskirts (and even rain boots!), plaid is seemingly
everywhere. and whether you're drawn to vintage styles, 90s grunge
or the more traditional, scottish tartans, incorporating plaid into your daily
look is easier than ever!
while i love layering a plaid flannel over my graphic t-shirts or baby-doll dresses,
(or tying one around my waist with distressed denim like i did here),
i was eager to try a more polished, plaid look. this plaid shift dress,
purchased at my local old navy, is perfect for spring in seattle. the colorful
print can be paired with a variety of accessories, and the long sleeves are
weather-appropriate for chillier days.

i paired my brown oxfords, denim jacket and navy crossbody (a gift from my parents
from their recent trip to italy!) with this plaid dress; i can't wait to style a more
casual look with my converse. simply roll the sleeves,
add several statement bracelets and you're ready for
coffee with friends, an afternoon at the farmer's market, or a casual happy hour
