life lately

i cannot tell you how excited i am for the upcoming weekend.

although there will be some sad moments along the way - 

patrick and i are heading to portland to celebrate memorial day,

but really - just to relax, behave like over-zealous tourists, and visit a few close friends.

first, however, i must get through my very best friend, a's, going away party.

she is off to embark on a new adventure (and sadly, leaving me behind). 

i could not be more excited for her,

but i am being selfish right now. i don't want her to go.

i'm not ready to say goodbye, and i am certainly not 

ready to go long-distance with my very best friend.

fortunately, she is moving somewhere sunny;

i hope she is prepared for me to visit (and often, too!).
