a walk in the garden

rain, rain, go away!
what does persistent rain in seattle mean for fashion bloggers?
you have to get creative when it comes to taking photos;
find a local indoor or covered area to shoot.
these photos were taken at the volunteer park conservatory
and i am thrilled with how they turned out
(i can't take any of the credit - michelle dorman sure knows what she's doing!!).

dress and sweater: nordstrom rack (similar sweater here), necklace: nordstrom,
tights: fred meyer, clutch: aldo, ring: old navy, boots: dsw

when i picked up this dress at my local nordstrom rack a few weeks ago,
i imagined pairing it with a black blazer or grey cardigan.
however, after trying it on again at home (i rarely try things on in the store,
but felt the need due to the fitted nature of this particular dress),
i thought it would be more fun to add a bit of color.
hello, oversized maroon sweater!

i fell in love with the overall style of this dress, especially
the lace around the hem. additionally, it can easily be dressed up or down and
will transition well into spring. a denim jacket, ballet flats, or light
sweater, and the dress has a completely different look!

are you ready for the weekend?
i sure am! the toddlers kept me busy this week,
and i am ready to relax, catch up with a few friends, and take a nap (or two!).
i hope you have a wonderful weekend!
xoxo.
