summertime, please slow down -
just like that, another week has come and gone
with too much work and too many chores and not nearly enough time to
enjoy the sun and warm seattle weather.
i just need a few extra days to relax and catch my breath!
i've always been drawn to white clothing;
whether a blouse, dress, or pair of shorts, a stark white
handbag or piece of clothing can make a statement. as a preschool
teacher, however (and a somewhat clumsy individual in general - especially
when it comes to coffee, sandwiches, or anything with stain potential),
i tend to stray from white clothing for fear of ruining it.
i saw this lwd (little white dress) from sammydress and thought,
'maybe i should give white a chance!'
i absolutely love the bohemian feel of this dress,
and the fit is both comfortable and flattering. though it has been
warm in seattle as of late, the weather tends to cool off in the
early evening. the 3/4 length sleeves are light-weight yet
offer a bit of warmth after the sun goes down (i was perfectly comfortable
sitting here by the fire). the large lace detail on the hem and sleeves
is my favorite part of this dress!
i wanted to keep the rest of my outfit relatively simple and
opted for my go-to brown sandals (i swear they match everything, and
they're on sale now!) and a few bracelets. the turquoise and gold add a bit of flair, but
allow the dress to make a statement.
