the side-split top

oh hi there! long time, no blog.
the past few weeks have seemingly flown by -
i recently made a major career change, and it took a great deal of time,
effort, and reflection. hence the lack of posts.
i can't wait to tell you all about it, but today, i want to share one of my
favorite summer tops.

i am cheating a bit today, as i took these photos a few weeks back -
it's now much too chilly in seattle for shorts and a sleeveless top,
but this could just as easily be paired with your favorite
skinny jeans or leggings.
here, however, i've styled it for my warm-weather readers
with vintage, light-wash denim shorts!
i picked up this side-split top at local boutique, lika love.
the dusty rose pink was perfect for summer, and i am eager to
style it with my dark denim, black leggings, ankle boots, and chunky
sweaters now that fall has officially arrived.

top: c/o lika love, shorts: vintage levi's (thrifted),
tennis shoes: converse, bracelet: urban outfitters,
necklace: nordstrom (exact here) choker: baublebar via nordstrom (exact here)

the side-split trend doesn't seem to be going anywhere this fall,
as i have seen numerous short and long-sleeved blouses, as
well as more basic tee's and tunics
with the side-split detail. this trend is relaxed, easy to wear,
and can add length and detail to your outfit for a more voluminous silhouette.
the open sides create a skimming effect that can be worn over almost anything
currently in your closet!

i'm currently lusting after thisthis, and this style (all of which
are under $50 - perfect if you're trying this style for the first time!).
have you tried the side-split trend?
what are some of your favorite ways to wear it?
xoxo.
