happy tuesday, everyone!
these photos were taken on (what felt like!) the first
'official' spring day, following weeks of wind, rain and chilly
temperatures. jenn (fellow blogger and friend from hello rigby)
and i were thrilled to enjoy a bit of sunshine
while sipping coffee, taking outfit photos and struttin'
around queen anne in our matching pink brooks heritage sneakers.
disclosure: brooks graciously provided jenn and i with the sneakers
photographed in this post. all opinions are my own!
in addition to taking blog photos together, jenn and i participated
in an instagram takeover on the brooks heritage page; the
instagram story has 'disappeared,' but we had a wonderful time
introducing ourselves to fellow brooks' followers, taking jumping
photos (essential with boomerang!) and of course sharing
tips on how to style pink sneakers for spring!
if you're new to seattle, or perhaps planning a trip here,
the iconic, kerry park, located on upper queen anne, is a must-see!
while parking can be somewhat tricky, the view of the city
is absolutely breathtaking. can you see the space needle?
i feel very fortunate to call seattle home, and views like this often
remind me how beautiful this (frequently grey) city can be.
jenn and i decided to style our sneakers two ways (with
another outfit post to come): a casual and more dressy look.
prior to meeting up, we sent a few texts back and forth, but otherwise
we didn't plan or coordinate these outfits. however, i love
how well they compliment one another!
on megan:
crossbody purse: birthday gift from my friend, brittany!
sneakers: c/o brooks (exact here)
on jenn:
striped top & crossbody bag: cuyana, jeans: old navy,
cropped jeans were perfect for showcasing
the detail and color of our sneakers! when spring
begins to show herself, i am eager to dig out my ankle-bearing
bottoms. i recently picked up these cropped jeans while
shopping at target. they are incredibly soft and stretchy - essential
for an afternoon exploring the city (when coffee, donuts and
other treats may be consumed!).
i used to dislike pairing sneakers with jeans.
for some reason, it felt a bit sloppy. my opinion has
changed (who says your style preferences can't change, too?),
and i now love the casual, yet chic appearance
of sneakers with denim. it is stylish and practical when you are
on-the-go and crave comfort!
how do you style your sneakers?
be sure to visit jenn's blog to see her full outfit post!
xoxo.
