happy thursday, everyone!
this week has felt seemingly slower than normal (or is it just me?!).
i think the toddlers have picked up on my eagerness
for it to just be friday already; thus, they have more energy,
a constant need to sprint throughout the classroom,
and an ever-present desire to test any and all boundaries ('that's my toy, so
instead of asking for it back, i will push you down and then grab it from your hands').
i suppose that's all typical when working in a toddler community :)
this past december, my dad and i had the pleasure of attending
the filson flagship grand opening. throughout the night, i was lusting after
the gorgeous flannel tops, leather boots, and of course, the luggage.
filson, you sure know how to make a bag!
the classic style, high quality, and lifetime guarantee puts filson above
other retailers when it comes to shopping for luggage and tote bags.
much to my surprise (and utter excitement!) the above bag
was sitting under our christmas tree!
as you can likely tell, this is not a new bag.
because of the lifetime guarantee filson offers, a customer
can return a damaged or used bag and either have it repaired, or sometimes,
have the bag replaced altogether. the repair team will then decide
whether or not to repurpose the bag. the bag can then be resold.
my bag is from the 1950s! it had a bit of cosmetic work done (as you can tell from the
various stitching). i have a card documenting what was repaired and which
parts of the bag were replaced. it's truly a work of art!

top: nordstrom (exact here & on sale!), jeans & scarf: american eagle,
flats: forever 21 (similar here), bag: filson (gift), bangles: alex and ani, ring: c/o lika love
when creating this look, i wanted my bag and scarf to be the statement pieces.
i added my favorite high-waisted jeans, simple brown flats,
and a comfortable, neutral top to complete the outfit. i am all about
comfort as of late (and keeping warm!). this top is soft, versatile, and could
easily be layered under a sweater or vest. you simply cannot beat the price, either.
just in case you missed it, my post from the filson grand opening can be seen here.
xoxo.
