exactly two years ago today (5/10/10),
this girl graduated from GU!
can you believe it has been two years?!
i cannot.
two years since i said goodbye to the girlfriends.
two years since i moved out of my off-campus house
(which my dad referred to as "filth and squalor"),
packed up the volvo,
and was driven home
(to my parent's couch).
while i am immensely sad to be done with school,
i am also ready to be done with this "post-grad" phase.
what a let down.
please let me try to embellish my resume just a bit more.
and write a few more cover letters.
and perhaps stress a bit more about my finances (or lack thereof).
yes, i would love to take a job that a fifteen year old high school student is also eligible for.
i simply love only seeing my best friends a few times each year.
frozen food, i will take it because you are all i can afford.
four years of higher education,
please help me find a career.
i apologize for my rant.
although post-grad life has felt seemingly analogous to a car collision (in slow motion)
there have been several positive things to note :)
i moved out on my own.
i put my degree to use while volunteering.
i survived my first real job.
i joined a book club and met some incredible ladies.
i have a close circle of girlfriends that i adore.
i am trying to learn to live on budget.
i started this blog :)
i fell in love with the babies i take care of.
i had my heart broken, but am ready to get back out there.
surely there are a few more?
these little successes are the first that come to mind, however.
these past two years have gone by ridiculously fast.
so much has happened,
although it feels as though nothing has changed.
i cannot wait to see what the future has in store!
xoxo.
