how is it already almost the end of september?

the past few weeks have simply flown by; a trip to california, 

the start of a new (and very loved!) job, and as per usual, 

too many delicious treats and not enough time with friends!

end of summer, where have you gone?! 

i am striving to embrace fall weather, while adjusting to my new 

(and quite busy) work schedule. between working late, 

going to the gym, babysitting, blogging + events, and spending time with one another,

our little apartment is a wreck. after much persuasion, 

i think i have convinced will that we need (aka i really, really want) 

a cleaning lady. it sounds selfish, and perhaps a bit silly, 

but we simply don't have the time. or we do, but we would rather spend it 

doing things other than dusting and scrubbing our little apartment.

i hate coming home to a messy home,

and when i do make it home, the last thing i want to do is 

clean the oven. or wipe off the bathroom counters. we are testing out 

a cleaning service this week, and i think it will add a bit 

of relief to our busy lives. i'll keep you posted ;)

this weekend, we visited our dear friends', maggie and jake's,

new home. they've moved out of the city and into an 

adorable house down south. we had a blast celebrating

this new endeavor with them - sadly, i miss them already.

2014...

^^^ just a few of my favorites from this past year ^^^

it is hard to believe that 2014 will be over within a few hours.

i know i likely said this at the end of 2013, but this year has been a good one;

perhaps the best one in a long while. 

i finished my RIE and montessori training, 

completed my second year of teaching (and subsequently running my 

very own little classroom), spent a great deal of time with family and friends,

fell in love, sent my baby brother off to college, 

met several new blogging friends, and continued to pursue my passion 

for writing, fashion, and sharing style advice on this forum.

surely i forgot a few things and events in the above list, 

but those were the first to come to mind. 

i am ever so grateful for the blessings (such as a 

full-time job, new apartment, and supportive family)

i was given this past year, but also the hardships and challenges that came about. 

i believe that it is through the more trying times 

that we become stronger, so i am grateful for the opportunity 

to test myself in order to be a better person. 

and now i cannot wait to ring in the new year with my love and of course,

my favorite girlfriends.

this was after i attempted to douse it in downy wrinkle release. 

oh well.

tom had to leave extra early for a meeting, so i could not harass him about an outfit picture.

however, he did make me this before he left :)

i inhaled it.

catching up

today is the day.

the house is officially gone.

it is no longer ours.

now empty,

we had to hand the keys over to the new family.

my family is closing this chapter of our lives, and moving onto the next.

my mom texted me our new "home" phone number - not cool.

(my brother and bailey are reticent to accept the condo as home, too).

as am i, though i do not actually live there...

however, i have a new roommate! 

and a bit of new furniture,
