haircut from hellothere

i cannot believe i forgot to tell you about my haircut from h***

my hair was dry

and gross

and in desperate need of a trim

but i am (trying to be) on a strict budget (and not doing very well)

so i went to a popular { inexpensive } chain to get said haircut

you would not believe the verbal abuse my hair endured

"dry ends"

"damaged ends"

"botched color"

"uneven cut"

"poorly cut layers"

"more dryness"

"remnants of a former a-line cut"

"bleach spots"

"poor shampoo and conditioner choices"

"too much straightening"

etc. etc.

thirty minutes and one inch later, i was out of there

and i have worn a ponytail every day since

eek!

i won't be going back there anytime soon

and i think i will continue to give this mane a break

because i actually rather like my hair :)

the weekend is over, and i am absolutely exhausted. i babysat two munchkins on friday (best behaved little guys), one yesterday, deep cleaned my apartment, attended my dad and brother's birthday party, and watched four munchkins today. needless to say, there was not much sleep or relaxation for this girl. not that i am complaining... too much!

diy t-shirt scarf

it is official. i am addicted to scarf-making. next up? headbands :) only that will require a hot glue gun...

materials

1. xl men's t-shirt, or xxl women's t-shirt

2. scissors

watch out for your dog! 

making the scarf

3. cut hem off bottom of shirt

4. cut shirt into 1-1 1/2 inch strips

5. cut as many strips as possible (until you reach the sleeves of the t-shirt)

{ i typically aim for 13 strips }

6. cut each strip along the seam so you have 13 long strips

7. set end of strips under something in preparation to braid strips

8. braid strips

day nineteen

i am changing up the order of my challenge a tiny bit because i wanted to share with you the craft project i did with my mama yesterday. we cut up a dress i was going to donate and made this:

it was both easy and fun!

it is hard to believe that the weekend is over, monday is here, and we have a full work week to get through! i am hoping to visit some of the girlfriends this week, as i did not see them over the weekend. 


i just had to purchase new license tags for loui. he is so expensive! i guess this is what adulthood entails... boring and expensive purchases... he also needs gas, air in his tires, and a bath - desperately! i think the tags were enough for today. the rest can wait :) xoxo.

i went to the casino for my very first time today - after wine tasting for the first time

it was quite an eventful day

i may have stopped at the outlet mall conveniently located next to the aforementioned casino

(we need not discuss that though)

alas, the snow is melting, the wind has died down, and i am back at work :) my daily photo challenge continues, as today's post depicts "my morning". for me, morning is not complete without breakfast. i eat breakfast at work because if i eat before driving here, i am hungry by 9am. then i end up snacking or eating yet another breakfast. here was my morning treat:
